Wes Anderson "American Express" commercial

Here's an old American Express commercial from last year that was directed by Wes Anderson. I had never seen this ad before, it was fantastic!

I've been re-watching all the Wes Anderson movies lately... it had been awhile. I really love his movies, especially when I was growing up and learning about film and art and everything. I remember the first time I watched "Rushmore" when I was 16... I didn't get it. I was so confused. I knew it had something special... I just didn't know what that was. I had to compulsively rewatch it until I finally got it, and it has been one of my favorite movies for almost a decade. And when "The Royal Tenenbaums" came out in 2001, it really changed my life... I was so excited for it, I saw it like 4 times in the theater and was just so aware of greatness and art and the power of cinema.

The last couple of Wes Anderson films ("The Life Aquatic" and "Darjeeling Limited") haven't been as good... I think he's suffering from a little artistic malaise and he's a little too comfortable with his process. But I still love them, and have high hopes that he'll deliver a couple more masterpieces before he's done.

Here's my Wes Anderson list

1) Rushmore
2) The Royal Tenenbaums
3) Bottle Rocket
4) The Darjeeling Limited
5) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

UPDATE:

Here's a new Wes Anderson commercial featuring Brad Pitt for some cell phone in Japan!
